I’ve not posted anything about Amy Winehouse yet for no reason other than I just haven’t.

That said, I had never listened to her music upon her death.  She was popular and the tabloids were worshiping her and I tend to not partake of the things that are popular for the sake of their popularity.  For instance, I’ve not watched any of the Harry Potter movies (or read the books) mostly because they are so freakin’ popular that it irritated me a bit to have them thrown about all the time.

I finally broke down today and check out her stuff on Youtube.  I now understand her popularity.  She’s really good. I read her Wikipedia entry and see the crap that she did to herself and that was done to her.

I can only hope that someone who lived such a tortured life has found some peace in death.  With a life like hers who needs a hell.
